Application filed May 14, 1907. Serial No. 373,621.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Gerhard Tittmann, a citizen of Germany, residing at Foche, near Solingen, Germany, have invented new and useful Improvements in Safety-Razors, of which, the following is a specification.

This invention relates to a safety razor which is so constructed that the handle may be clamped at different angles to the head, so that the device may be readily manipulated.

In the accompanying drawing: Figure 1 is a side view, partly in section, of my improved safety razor, and Figs. 2 and 3 are perspective views of the same, showing the head set at different angles.

The toothed plate a, of the razor head is adapted to hold the knife i, and is provided at its back with a slotted bow b. This bow extends laterally from the right towards the left edge of the head, so that it is parallel to the cutting edge of knife i. At the center of bow b, there is pivoted to plate a, at c, a socket or arm d, which is thus arranged radially with relation to the bow. This arm is adapted to be engaged by a screw stud h,formed on the end of handle g. When the stud is screwed into the socket, the bow b, will be clamped between the end of the socket and a shoulder k, of handle g, so that the head is securely held to the handle. For changing the angle between head and handle, it is only necessary to slacken the latter, turn it to the angle desired, and then again tighten it up.

I claim:

1. In a safety razor, a head having a laterally extending bow, and a pivoted arm, combined with a blade having a cutting edge parallel to said bow, and a handle adapted to engage said bow and arm, substantially as specified.

2. In a safety razor, a head having a laterally extended slotted bow, and a socketed arm pivoted to the head at the center of the bow, combined with a blade having a cutting edge parallel to the bow, a handle having a shoulder adapted to engage the bow, and a threaded stud adapted to engage the socketed arm, substantially as specified.
