To all whom it may concern:
Be it known, that I, Jeremiah Reichard, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city, county and State of New York, and doing business at No. 34 Reade street, in said city, have adopted for my use a Trade-Mark for Safety-Razors and Razor-Blades, of which the following is a description.
The trade-mark consists of a shield of conventional form upon which appears the full face of a man lathered and in the act of shaving with a safety-razor and beneath which is a scroll or ribbon, together with the word “YANKEE,” substantially as shown in the accompanying facsimile.
This trade-mark has been continuously used by me in my business since May 1, 1903.
The class of merchandise to which this trade-mark is appropriated is cutlery, and the particular description of goods comprised in said class upon which the said trade-mark is used is safety-razors and razor-blades.
The trade-mark is usually displayed on the said articles and on packages, cartons, and boxes by directly printing, stamping, or engraving the said name thereon or by placing thereon a printed label illustrating the said trade-mark. The trade-mark is also used on circulars and advertising matter of various descriptions.
